Lancaster Symphony Orchestra Project (2005)
In 2005 I worked with Lancaster Symphony Orchestra Music Director Stephen Gunzenhauser to create a series of paintings based on classical music. Stephen chose four of the Symphony’s musical selections from the 2005 – 2006 season as inspiration for this series of paintings. I took the Maestro’s conducting stroke for the apex of each piece, and through repetition and careful color choices, created works that speak to the major theme of each selection. Works by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Beethoven and Dvorak were used.
